Having portrayed the fearless Asgardian warrior in Thor and Thor: The Dark World (along with a guest spot in Marvel’s Avengers of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Jaimie Alexander’s Lady Sif has been M.I.A in the MCU over the past few years, the character sitting out Thor: Ragnarok as well as the Infinity Saga’s big climax in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
While we’re yet to get an in-universe explanation for Sif’s absence, in reality Alexander has been rather busy with her commitments to Blindspot, but with the NBC series set to come to an end this year, could a return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe soon be on the cards? Well, the actress may well have suggested so in a recent interview when she was asked whether she can really ride a horse whilst wielding a sword:
“Yes, once upon a time I was able to do that, and I might have to do that again in the future, so hopefully I haven’t lost that gift”, she replied, before talk turned to her current projects and she responded that “I wish I could tell you but I would probably cease to exist if I actually told what I have coming up, so I can’t tell you guys, but thanks for asking anyway.”
Whether that’s confirmation of a Marvel return or not, there are a number of projects on the horizon that could potentially feature an appearance from Sif, including Thor: Love and Thunder and the Disney+ series Loki. Although with the Asgardians now living on Earth, there’s really any number of possibilities.
