Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is a prequel that takes players 200 years back in time from the world familiar to players of Warband.   This time periods sees the Calradian Empire on the verge of collapse and the remains of this once mighty and ancient empire are being fought over by several factions.  While these factions fight and squabble over the remnants of an empire than once dominated the entire continent, other factions try to take advantage of the chaos and gain power.
