Daniel Radcliffe, who is best known for playing Harry Potter in all eight instalments of the franchise, has expressed his doubts about portraying the titular character again in any future Wizarding World project.
In a recent interview with Variety, while promoting his two new films Escape From Pretoria and Guns Akimbo, Radcliffe revealed he wants to move on from Harry Potter and has no interest in returning to the Wizarding World at the moment.
“I don’t think so. I don’t like say no to things, but it’s not something that I’m rushing to do. I feel like those films have moved on and they’re doing just fine without us. I’m happy to keep it that way. I like what my life is now. I’m not saying that I’ll never go back into any franchise, but I like the flexibility that I have with my career now. And I don’t want to get into a situation where I’m signed up for one series for years in advance.”
With the Fantastic Beasts series serving as prequels to the Harry Potter films, it would take a major flash-forward to connect the story of Eddie Redmayne’s Newt Scamander and Daniel Radcliffe’s Harry Potter. There is however also the possibility of a feature film adaptation of the hit stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, although its been a few years now since there were any rumours about that very possibility.
