DC series Stargirl gets three new trailers

April 23, 2020 by Gary Collinson

We’ve lost count of the number of trailers we’ve seen for the upcoming DC live-action series Stargirl, but with its May premiere fast approaching, The CW had dropped another three, which between them offer up a few snippets of previously unseen footage from the latest DC Universe show; check them out here…

Stargirl will follow the story of Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger) who is a smart, athletic and above all else kind girl. This high school teenager’s seemingly perfect life hits a major speedbump when her mother gets married, and her new family moves from Los Angeles, California to Blue Valley, Nebraska. Struggling to adapt to a new school, make new friends and deal with a new step-family, Courtney discovers her step-father has a secret; he used to be the sidekick to a superhero. “Borrowing” the long-lost hero’s cosmic staff, Courtney becomes the unlikely inspiration for an entirely new generation of superheroes.

Featuring in the cast of Stargirl are Brec Bassinger (Bella and the Bulldogs) as Stargirl alongside Amy Smart (Justified), Luke Wilson (Roadies), Trae Romano (Robbie), Joel McHale (Community), Lou Ferrigno Jr. (S.W.A.T.), Brian Stapf (The Walking Dead), Henry Thomas (The Haunting of Hill House), Joy Osmanski (The Santa Clarita Diet), Neil Hopkins (Matador), Nelson Lee (Mulan), Meg DeLacey (The Fosters), Anjelika Washington (Young Sheldon), Yvette Monreal (Matador), Christopher James Baker (True Detective), Neil Jackson (Westworld), Hunter Sansone (Drama Drama) and Jake Austin Walker (Rectify).

Stargirl premieres on the DC Universe streaming service on May 18th, and launches on The CW the following day.
