Space Jam: A New Legacy is the sequel to the classic 1996 live-action/animated hybrid film which saw Michael Jordan teaming with the Looney Tunes for a crucial basketball match against the Monstars. Malcolm D. Lee (Night School) is directing the new film, with James producing and starring alongside Don Cheadle (Avengers: Endgame), Sonequa Martin-Green (Star Trek: Discovery) and basketball stars Anthony Davis, Damian Lillard, Chris Paul, Diana Taurasi, Klay Thompson, Nneka Ogwumike and Chiney Ogwumike.
Warner Bros. has the film slated for release on July 16th 2021, and James has recently confirmed that it remains on schedule despite the current global health crisis, with word on the animation continuing behind closed doors.
