THR is reporting that Fifty Shades of Grey and Suspiria star Dakota Johnson has become the latest addition to the cast of Don’t Worry Darling, the second directorial feature from Olivia Wilde (Booksmart).
Written by BAFTA-nominated Katie Silberman (Booksmart) from a spec script by Shane Van Dyke and Cary Van Dyke, the film is described as “a psychological thriller about a 1950s housewife whose reality begins to crack, revealing a disturbing truth underneath.”
Johnson becomes the latest addition to a cast that includes Florence Pugh (Black Widow) as the housewife, as well as Wilde, her The Peanut Butter Falcon co-star Shia LaBeouf, and Chris Pine (Wonder Woman).
Prior to the global health crisis, New Line was planning to begin production in the spring and will start shooting once restrictions have been lifted. Wilde and Silberman also produce with Roy Lee and Miri Yoon.
Johnson will next be seen on screen in the music drama The High Note, where she stars alongside Tracee Ellis Ross. You can watch the trailer here.
