Shark RPG Maneater gets launch trailer ahead of release this Friday

May 19, 2020 by Andrew Newton

Tripwire Interactive has released the launch trailer for their the open-water, action-RPG Maneater which is set for release on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC on Friday 22nd May.  Taking the role of a giant shark, players will terrorise the coastal waterways, chew up swimmers and generally make humans scared to dip a toe in the water.  Watch the launch trailer below…

In Maneater players will start off as a small shark pup living in a hostile world where everything is a threat and only by eating their way up the foodchain will the shark be able to survive.

The game features a large and varied open world that can be explored and a diverse range of enemies, including other apex predators, cruel fishermen and tough coast guards, that will at first see the shark as food before becoming food.

There’s lots of food in the waters and feed the shark enough and he can grow and evolve far beyond what nature intended, allowing him to get revenge on the humans.

Featuring:

  • A story-based campaign narrated by Chris Parnell (Rick and Morty).
  • Compelling combat.
  • Variety of enemies from other sea creatures to humans.
  • Evolve the shark down multiple pathways.
  • 7 large regions to explore, including resort beaches, industrial docks and more.
  • A full day/night cycle.

Maneater will release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on 22nd May with a Nintendo Switch version arriving in the future.
