Sons of Anarchy and King Arthur: Legend of the Sword star Charlie Hunnam has signed on to star in an adaptation of Ben Moon’s memoir Denali: A Man A Dog, A Friendship Of A Lifetime for Spyglass Media.
The film will tell the true story of Moon, a photographer who forms a deep bond with a rescue dog he adopts from a shelter as they embark on an adventure together across the American west, before both man and dog find themselves supporting each other through difficult battles against cancer.
Denali will reunite Hunnam with filmmaker Max Winkler, who recently directed the actor in the upcoming Lionsgate boxing drama Jungleland. Hunnam will also produce alongside Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa, whom he previously worked with on 2003’s Cold Mountain.
Hunnam was most recently seen in Guy Ritchie’s crime caper The Gentleman, and next appears in the Apple TV+ crime drama series Shantaram.
