Back in September it was announced that Tik Tok star Addison Rae is set to lead the cast of He’s All That, a gender-swapped remake of the 1999 teen comedy She’s All That, and now comes word that original lead actress Rachael Leigh Cook has joined.
Cook won’t be reprising her role as Laney Boggs, but will rather star as the “wise and caring mother” of Rae’s Padgett Sawyer, who is inspired by the Zackary Siler (Freddie Prinze Jr.) character of the original film. The remake will follow the plot of the first movie, with Padgett accepting a challenge to turn her school’s least popular boy into the Prom King.
Tanner Buchanan (Cobra Kai) is portraying the Laney Boggs role of the unpopular boy, while the rest of the cast includes Madison Pettis, Petyon Meyer, Isabella Crovetti, Annie Jacob and Myra Molloy. Freaky Friday and Mean Girls helmer Mark Waters will direct.
