It’s been rumoured for a long time, and now Peter Jackson has added fuel to the fire that he’s set to direct an episode of the BBC’s long-running sci-fi series Doctor Who. The filmmaker has posted a video to Facebook, which sees him polishing his Oscars and discussing the possibility of directing an episode with his daughter, only for Peter Capaldi’s Doctor to show up with a contract from the BBC. That’s not the only tease in the video, as Jackson also has an annotated copy of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Silmarillion on his desk.
Rumour has it that should Jackson direct an instalment of Doctor Who, it will be split across three 90 minute episodes, with extended versions subsequently arriving on Blu-ray later in the year.
