Deadline has revealed that Tony Revolori (Spider-Man: Far From Home) has joined Disney+’s upcoming Willow sequel series.
Revolori joins a cast that includes Warwick Davis reprising his role as Willow Ufgood alongside Ellie Bamber (Nocturnal Animals), Cailee Spaeney (The Craft: Legacy) and Erin Kellyman (Solo: A Star Wars Story).
Plot details are scarce at the moment, but Deadline notes the series will apparently centre on “a group on a mission to save a kidnapped prince.” The group of saviours will include “Dove (Bamber), an unassuming kitchen maid whose backstory resembles that of Willow from the movie. Proven that she is “the chosen one,” she is joined on the journey by Kit (Spaeny), the princess whose twin brother was abducted. Kellyman plays Jade, a servant who is Kit’s best friend and moral compass.”
Jonathan Kasdan (Solo: A Star Wars Story) and Wendy Mericle (Arrow) are serving as showrunners on Willow, while the film’s original director Ron Howard is also on board as executive producer.
Revolori portrays Flash Thompson, one of Peter Parker’s fellow classmates, high school bully and mega-Spider-Man fan in Marvel and Sony’s Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home. He will be seen again in the as-yet-untitled Spider-Man 3, which is currently filming.
Filming on Willow is set to get underway in Wales later this year.
