The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has announced the nominations for this year’s 78th annual Golden Globe Awards, with streaming giant Netflix dominating across both film and television with a grand total of 42 nominations (22 for film and 20 for TV).
Leading the motion picture field is David Fincher’s Mank with seventh nominations, followed closely by another Netflix release in The Trial of the Chicago 7 with five. Both are nominated for Best Motion Picture – Drama alongside Nomadland, Promising Young Woman and The Father, while the Musical or Comedy nominees are Music, Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, Hamilton, Palm Springs and The Prom.
