Tom Holland says Uncharted movie has the “biggest action sequences I’ve ever been a part of”

February 6, 2021 by Liam Waddington

After spending years in development hell, Sony’s Uncharted movie is set to release in 2022, and now star Tom Holland has teased the action sequences that fans of the video game series will be expecting.

In a new interview on Variety’s Awards Circuit podcast (via Screenrant), Holland, who is set to portray the iconic video game character Nathan Drake, has claimed that the upcoming film will feature some of the “biggest action sequences I’ve ever been a part of.”

While this is maybe a surprising statement from the actor who is currently playing Spider-Man (and has just claimed that Spider-Man 3 is “the most ambitious standalone superhero movie ever made”), Holland continued to say he has the injuries to prove it. He added, “the cuts and bruises and bangs I got from dangling off of wires and falling off things was ridiculous.”

While plot details are still currently unknown, Holland has previously stated that the Uncharted movie will be taking inspiration from the fourth instalment in the video game franchise, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

Unfortunately, fans are going to have to wait slightly longer to watch the Uncharted movie as Sony Pictures have recently delayed the video game adaptation to February 11th, 2022 from its previous set date of July 16th, 2021.

Uncharted is directed by Ruben Fleischer (Venom, Zombieland: Double Tap) and features a cast that includes Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Far From Home) as Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg (Mile 22) as Sully as well as Antonio Banderas (Pain and Glory), Sophia Ali (Truth or Dare), and Tati Gabrielle (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) in undisclosed roles.
