Gillian Anderson is set to follow up her Golden Glove-nominated turn in The Crown by returning to the big screen for White Bird: A Wonder Story, which is being directed by Marc Forster (World War Z) from a script by Mark Bomback (War For the Planet of the Apes).
Based on the graphic novel by R.J. Palacio and described as “the creative companion movie drawn from the universe of the Lionsgate’s 2017 box office hit Wonder“, the film “charts the story of a young Jewish girl hidden away by a boy and his family in Nazi-occupied France during World War II.”
Anderson – who will be seen later this year with the third season of Netflix’s Sex Education – is set to take on the role of Vivienne, “a woman who along with her family must make unimaginable choices.”
Filming on White Bird: A Wonder Story is set to get underway in the Czech Republic later this month, with additional casting to be announced soon.
