With the long-gestating Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series finally set to begin filming in the Spring of this year, the upcoming Disney+ series has added a new member to its cast.
According to Variety, Indira Varma has joined the series in a currently undisclosed role. While Varma is perhaps best known for her role in HBO’s Game of Thrones as Ellaria Sand – which she played alongside Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal – her other roles include Rome, Torchwood, Carnival Row, Patrick Melrose, and The One and Only Ivan.
While exact plot details are currently being kept under wraps – besides the series set in-between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope – we do know Varma will star alongside returning stars Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader respectively.

The series has enlisted Joby Harold (King Arthur: Legend of the Sword) to serve as the writer after the show parted ways with Hossein Amini (The Alienist) due to creative differences. The Mandalorian director Deborah Chow is set to direct the series.
