If it hadn’t done so already with its numerous victories along the road to the Oscars, Chloe Zhao’s Nomadland installed itself as a firm favourite for Best Picture at the Academy Awards last night when it received the top prize, the Darryl F. Zanuck Award, at the 2021 Producers Guild of America Awards.
Along with Nomadland, there were also wins for the likes of Soul (Animated Motion Picture), Hamilton (Televised or Streamed Motion Picture), The Crown (Episodic Television – Drama), Schitt’s Creek (Episodic Television – Comedy), and The Queen’s Gambit (Limited Series).
