Former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Michelle Gellar is set to headline Hot Pink, a pilot for a coming of age YA comedy series from Elisabeth Holm (Obvious Child).
The project is loosely inspired by Elana K. Arnold’s book What Girls Are Made Of and is said to explore “the real, knotted, messy, thriving heartbeat of young womanhood through the eyes of a 16-year-old girl.”
Hot Pink has received a pilot order from Amazon, with Desiree Akhavan (The Miseducation of Cameron Post) attached to direct and executive produce alongside Holm and Rebecca Green (It Follows).
Gellar was last seen on screen portraying herself in the finale of The Big Bang Theory, while she is also set to feature among the cast of Kevin Smith’s upcoming Masters of the Universe: Revelation animated series, where she voices Teela.
