Survival horror Song of Horror coming to Xbox and Playstation this May

April 21, 2021 by Andrew Newton

Raiser Games and Protocol Games have announced that their popular PC survival-horror title, Song of Horror, is coming to Xbox and Playstation consoles on 28th May.  This horror title takes players through a paranormal story where a dark entity poses a constant threat and reacts to the gamer’s playstyle.

Song of Horror is a Lovecraftian, third person adventure that sees players investigate the disappearance of the elusive writer Sebastian P. Husher and his entire family.  Supernatural investigators will be able to take control of 13 characters, all of which have different skills, and rather than fighting the dark malevolent evil known as The Presence will have to focus on running, hiding and staying silent so as to avoid manifestations.

Featuring:

  • An advanced AI that reacts to the player’s actions and decisions, responds to your way of playing and hunts you down in unexpected ways
  • 13 different characters with each bringing a unique point of view to the investigation, allowing them to approach clues and items differently.
  • Each character will know more or less of certain aspects of the story with some being more effective against supernatural manifestations.  If a character gets killed by the Presence then it is permanent. However, the story will continue with another character, just without their skills and contributions to the world.
  • Locations inspired by the classics of the genre, including a mysterious antique shop, a forgotten abbey and an abandoned mental hospital.  Explore these places to gain clues and items that will help you solve challenging puzzles.

“We’ve always been incredibly humbled by the reception Song of Horror received from PC players, and now’s the time to drag console players into the brooding mystery the game has to offer,” says studio co-founder Carlos Grupeli. “The survival-horror genre has such a long & rich history on both PlayStation and Xbox that it feels like absolutely the right home for our little ode to all that has gone before to an audience that truly appreciates real scares.”

Song of Horror will launch on PlayStation and Xbox 28th May.
