During Disney’s Investor Day back in December, Marvel Studios announced that they are bringing fan-favourite character, Riri Williams, to the Disney+ streaming service for a live-action Ironheart series with Dominique Thorne (If Beale Street Could Talk) cast in the titular role.
Now, according to Variety, the upcoming Marvel project has hired Chinaka Hodge to serve as the head writer. Hodge has television writing credits that include the TNT adaptation of Snowpiercer and the Apple TV+ reboot of Amazing Stories.
Riri Williams was introduced into the Marvel comic book universe in 2015 and is a young engineering student and super-genius who designs her own Iron Man-style suit of armour using material stolen from her campus and begins fighting crime as the superhero Ironheart.
