Real-time strategy Death Crown available now on consoles

May 14, 2021 by Andrew Newton

Indie developer Co5monaut’s popular Steam RTS, Death Crown, is now available on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch and includes its two DLCs, Era of Human and Demonic Menace.  With an adjusted control system, this minimalist RTS pays homage to the titles developed for the Apple II computers in the 1980s and is as fast-paced as it is simple to learn.

Death Crown takes place after the a terrible war known as the Millennial War when one man, simply known as The King, manages to unite the lands and rule wisely.  The King became immortal and defied Death and this grew to arrogance and soon he realised that ruling all the living was no longer enough and that it was time to claim the powerful, titular Death Crown.

The war for the Death Crown includes three campaigns in which the players will lead the humans, the dead or demons through over 90 different maps.  With each map having a very simple rule, destroy the enemy fortress.  Players will need to create troops, strengthen their defences and gain resources by building mines or mills.  There is no need for long term strategy as players will need to instantly respond to the movements and actions of the enemy, and just like chess one mistake can have devastating consequences.

Death Crown also includes a local multiplayer mode allowing campaigns to be fought either co-op or versus.

As well as three different campaigns, Death Crown also provides a Domination Mode for the extremely skilled.  Players will face off against 30 fiendishly difficult missions with only 3 lives.  Losing all three lives will mean the ultimate defeat and start off at level 1 again.

Death Crown is now available in digital format for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
