EJ Moreno speaks with the director and star behind In The Earth…

In The Earth is a surreal and visually stunning horror experience. In speaking with its director and one of the actors, you can tell they enjoyed crafting this twisted film.

Director Ben Wheatley opens up about his early memories of the horror genre and what surrealist filmmakers inspired the film, while actor Reece Shearsmith dives into the strange process of filming during the pandemic and his villainous role.

As the world searches for a cure to a disastrous virus, a scientist and park scout venture deep in the forest for a routine equipment run. Through the night, their journey becomes a terrifying voyage through the heart of darkness, the forest coming to life around them.

In The Earth is written and directed by Ben Wheatley and stars Joel Fry, Reece Shearsmith, Hayley Squires, Ellora Torchia, John Hollingworth, and Mark Monero. In The Earth is in cinemas 18th June, with previews 17th June.
