Microids reveals more details for The Smurfs – Mission Vileaf

July 14, 2021 by Andrew Newton

Microids has revealed a new teaser trailer (see below) for their upcoming Smurfs game, The Smurfs – Mission Vileaf!.  The developers have also announced details on a couple of collector editions that will be available when the game launches on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC on October 26th.

The evil wizard Gargamel has once again come up with a devious plan to capture the Smurfs and it is up to our little blue friends to elude him once again.  Gargamel’s new scheme involves a formula he has discovered that creates a wicked plant called a Vileaf which grows seeds called ‘Viletrap’ seeds.  These seeds attract Smurfs and trap them in Vegetal traps.  Not only do these plants pose a danger to the Smurfs, they are also highly toxic and are damaging the forest and the sarsapirilla fields.

Players will need to set out on a journey with a Smurf team, including Hefty, Smurfette, Brainy and Chef, and get rid of this new threat using a handy new tool.  The Smurfizer is a multifunction tool and will help players jump higher, glide through the air, get rid of enemies and heal the plants the parts of the forest that have been damaged by the wicked new Vileaf.

It’s essential the Smurf team explore the corners of the 5 worlds to collect all the ingredients that will create an antidote to Gargamel’s posionous plant.

There will be two special editions available, The Smurftastic and the Collector Editions.  The Smurftastic Edition features the game, 3 lithographs, a Papa Smurf keyring and some stickers, while the Collector Edition includes all of this plus a resin Hefty Smurf figurine and the game soundtrack.

The Smurfs – Mission Vileaf! launches on Xbox One, PS4, Switch and PC on 26th October and will release on Xbox Series X/S and PS5 in 2022.
