Killing Eve stars Sandra Oh as MI6 agent Eve Polastri and Jodie Comer as the deadly assassin Villanelle in a cat-and-mouse game across Europe. The two become obsessed with each other and form and attachment during their hunt for the other. It is based on the novel series by Luke Jennigs with the show created by Fleabag‘s Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
The series will conclude with an 8-episode final season that will begin production in the UK in the early summer for a 2022 premiere. Laura Neal is set to take over as head writer and showrunner for the series’ final season, the fourth woman to be put in charge of the series, following creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Emerald Fennell, and Suzanne Heathcote.
Although this is the end of the main series, it has previously been reported that AMC Network, BBC America and Sid Gentle Films are currently in discussions for a number of potential spin-offs projects. However, no official announcement has been made as of writing this.
