Known for being a modern master of suspense and horror, the announcement of a new M. Night Shyamalan movie always sparks a debate. The polarizing filmmaker is fresh off his latest film Old and has officially teased his next project.
Shyamalan will return with another film he’s written and will direct, this one called Knock at the Cabin. Universal Pictures also set a release date for the movie of Friday, February 3rd 2023.

In August of this year, the filmmaker teased the script for Knock at the Cabin. While not showing any pages or the title, Shyamalan teased the film and noted in the tweet, “The next one. On third draft. Super tight. Under a 100 pages.”
For those unfamiliar, page numbers in the script usually translate to runtime. While not an exact match, 100 pages generally translate to 100 minutes in the film. This would put the movie roughly around the runtime as films like The Visit, Split, and Old. A tight script allows Shyamalan to focus on the usual twists and turns he loves including in his works.
Knock at the Cabin was initially set for February 17th of 2023 but has moved up two weeks to avoid Disney and Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. At the time of writing, Shyamalan’s Knock at the Cabin has no competition at the box office; that will likely change over the next year or so.
During our interview this year, M. Night Shyamalan teased that his upcoming films would see a brand new setting from his other films. Check that interview here…
