Gotham City has just grown as Deadline reports Jacob Scipio (Bad Boys for Life) has joined the Batgirl film for HBO Max. He’ll star alongside In The Heights‘ Leslie Grace, who dons the cape and cowl as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl.
Scipio reunites with his Bad Bays for Life directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who are directing for Warner Bros. and DC Films. Scipio’s character is being kept under wraps, but he will be the second lead in the film behind Grace.
As well as announcing Scipio’s casting, Deadline has also confirmed that J.K. Simmons has now officially signed on to the film, reprising his role from Zack Snyder’s Justice League as Barbara’s father Commissioner Jim Gordon.
