Liam Neeson is heading home, with Deadline reporting that the actor is set to reunite with Robert Lorenz, his director on this year’s U.S. box office hit The Marksman, for the Ireland-set action thriller In the Land of Saints and Sinners.
According to the trade, the film will take place in a remote Irish village where a newly-retired assassin (Neeson) finds himself drawn into a lethal game of cat and mouse with a trio of vengeful terrorists.
Lorenz is directing In the Land of Saints and Sinners from a script by Mark Michael McNally and Terry Loane. Filming is set to get underway in March 2022 in Ireland, with Ciaran Hinds (Game of Thrones) joining Neeson in the cast.

The film marks another action thriller outing for Neeson, who’s seemingly been teasing his retirement from the genre since reinventing himself as an action star with 2008’s Taken. He’s got no shortage of them on the horizon either, with Honest Thief helmer Mark Williams’ Backlight and Martin Campbell’s Memory already in post-production and Nimrod Antal’s Retribution in front of cameras now.
