Crytek’s 19th century bounty hunter action game Hunt: Showdown is set for a live-action TV series adaptation courtesy of the upcoming U.S. streaming platform Binge.
“We have always known that Hunt: Showdown would look great as a live-action series,” said Crytek’s Avni Yerli. “The world is dark, gritty, and immersive, and there is so much potential for many great stories to be told. We can’t wait to see what the team at Binge can create.”
“Hunt: Showdown is a heart-pumping survival game with incredible lore that’s ripe for a live-action series adaptation,” added Allan Ungar, who will produce the series for Binge. “We’re excited to drop viewers deep into the bayou and have them come face to face with monsters and hunters alike.”
Set in 1895, Hunt: Showdown is a competitive multiplayer shooter which sees players taking on the role of bounty hunters tasked with taking down mythical monsters.
Announced at E3 last year, Binge is a new streaming service aimed at catering specifically to gamers, promising adaptations that “respect the fans and the games that inspire them.” In addition to Hunt: Showdown, the streamer is also working on TV adaptations of the Driver and System Shock video game franchises.
