Now that Star Wars: The Force Awakens is here, attention is starting to shift towards the next chapter of the saga, with Rian Johnson stepping in to succeed J.J. Abrams as director of Star Wars: Episode VIII.
A couple of weeks ago, J.J. Abrams said that he had no regrets about handing over the reins on the next installment. However it seems he may now have had a change of heart according to his good pal Greg Gunberg, who plays Resistance pilot Snap Wexley in The Force Awakens.
“He read it and said something he never, ever says, he said: ‘It’s so good, I wish I were making it,’” Grunberg told The Washington Post. “He may have said something one time on Lost, with Damon [Lindelof, the co-creator], but I never hear him express regret like that.”
