Although the focus for Star Wars appears to be shifting away from the Skywalker Saga following the release of 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Kathleen Kennedy revealed recently that the characters of the Sequel Trilogy remain very much in Lucasfilm’s plans, and now one of the stars of those movies has spoken about the prospect of a return to the galaxy far, far away.
“I’m totally not against [doing more Star Wars],” said Adam Driver when asked by UNILAD if there was any chance of seeing him back as Kylo Ren. “For me, it’s a filmmaker’s medium, so my only thing is working with great filmmakers. Whatever the size… it’s never been interesting to me, to an extent. There’s interesting things about working on both. I always just follow people I’d be interested in working with, and whether I’d be right for the part – things like that. No, definitely not averse.”
As we saw at the end of The Rise of Skywalker, Driver’s Ben Solo turned his back on the Dark Side and abandoned his Kylo Ren identity before sacrificing himself to save Rey and becoming one with the Force. However, with so much of the Resistance – First Order era and gap between trilogies yet to be explored, it would be very surprising if we have seen the last of the character, either as a pre-turn Ben Solo or evil Master of the Knights of Ren.
