Per Deadline, Lyndon Smith (Parenthood), Zuri Reed (Flatbush Misdemeanors), Jake Austin Walker (12 Mighty Orphans), Antonio Cipriano (Jagged Little Pill) and Jordan Rodrigues (Light as a Feather) have all been cast as series regulars to star alongside the previously announced lead actor Lisette Alexis in the upcoming National Treasure Disney+ TV series.
According to the outlet, Smith will play FBI Agent Ross, a top-of-her-class agent that makes a career-ending mistake, who sees the chance to redeem herself. Reed plays Tasha, a tech-savvy social media personality whose beliefs are challenged by the treasure hunt. Walker is Liam, a musician who sees the adventure as a way of honouring his late father’s treasure hunting past. Cipriano is Owen, a conspiracy-obsessed, full-of-himself goof that has a crush on Tasha and Rodrigues plays Ethan, a rule follower that’s been in love with Jess (Alexis) since they were kids who is thrown outside of his comfort zone by the treasure hunt.
The new 10-episode series will serve as an expansion of the franchise rather than a reboot and will follow Jess, a young DREAMer, played by Alexis, as she searches for answers about her family, embarking on a brand new adventure to save a lost Pan-American treasure. Jess is described as brilliant, resourceful, and always on the search for a good mystery, and will have to use her natural talent for solving puzzles to race against time to uncover her own buried history.
