Last month it was announced that Amazon is teaming with Westworld’s Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy to bring the hit video game series Fallout to life on the small screen, and now comes word that Walton Goggins (Ant-Man and the Wasp, The Righteous Gemstones) has signed on for a lead role the live-action adaptation.
Originally launching in 1997, Fallout is a post-apocalyptic RPG game taking place a couple of centuries after a catastrophic nuclear war left Earth a barren Wasteland, with the remnants of mankind living in huge underground fallout shelters known as Vaults.
As per Deadline, Goggins’ role is unconfirmed, but he is believed to be portraying a Ghoul, mutated humans who experienced prolong radiation exposure amid the Great War.
Nolan and Joy are producing the Fallout series through their Kilter Films banner, while Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner serve as showrunners and Nolan will take on directing duties on the pilot, which is expected to shoot later this year.
