Amazon Prime’s Fallout series has added another actor to its cast. Per Deadline, Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets) will star alongside Walton Goggins in the upcoming adaptation.
Originally launching in 1997, Fallout is a post-apocalyptic RPG game taking place a couple of centuries after a catastrophic nuclear war left Earth a barren Wasteland, with the remnants of mankind living in huge underground fallout shelters known as Vaults.
The details of Purnell’s role are being kept under wraps, but Deadline notes her character could be named Jean, “a young woman with a can-do attitude who may be hiding a dangerous secret.”
Fallout comes from Westworld duo Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. Nolan and Joy are executive producing through their Kilter Films banner with Athena Wickham, while Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner serve as showrunners and Nolan will take on directing duties on the pilot, which is expected to shoot later this year.
Fallout will also be produced by Bethesda Game Studios’ Todd Howard and Bethesda Softworks’ James AltmanTodd Howard for Bethesda Game Studios’ and James Altman for Bethesda Softworks.
