Coming off HBO Max’s The Suicide Squad spinoff Peacemaker, John Cena is heading to Amazon Studios for the buddy cop action comedy Officer Exchange.
As per Deadline, the film will see Cena as “Shepard “Shep,” a wrecking ball of a cop who teams up with an Indian police officer to take down a diamond smuggling ring in India.”
Officer Exchange has been written by Ben Zazove and Evan Turner, who scripted the upcoming Netflix/Happy Madison comedy The Out-Law, while Peacemaker’s Peter Safran and John Rickard as producing. As yet, there’s no word on a director.
The film adds to a growing slate for Cena, who has a second season of Peacemaker on the horizon, along with the feature films Project X-Traction, Argylle, Coyote vs. Acme, The Independent, Freelance, The Janson Directive and Honeymoon Friends.
