As part of its CinemaCon presentation this week, Disney has announced that its new live-action Haunted Mansion movie is set to arrive in cinemas in March 2023.
This second feature film adaptation of the iconic theme park attraction after the 2003 Eddie Murphy comedy is being directed by Justin Simien (Dear White People) from a script by Katie Dippold (Ghostbusters: Answer the Call) and features a cast that includes Rosario Dawson, Owen Wilson, LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Danny DeVito and Chase Dillon. As per Dark Horizons, the newly released synopsis reads:
In this mysterious adventure, a doctor (Rosario Dawson) and her 9-year-old son (Chase Dillon), looking to start a new life, move into a strangely affordable mansion in New Orleans, only to discover that the place is much more than they bargained for.
Desperate for help, they contact a priest (Owen Wilson), who, in turn, enlists the aid of a widowed scientist-turned failed-paranormal expert (LaKeith Stanfield), a French Quarter psychic (Tiffany Haddish) and a crotchety historian (Danny DeVito).
Haunted Mansion is set for a theatrical release on March 10th 2023.
