Composer Hans Zimmer has been collaborating with director Christopher Nolan for over a decade now on such films as Batman Begins, Inception and Interstellar, so it shouldn’t come as a big surprise that the two will be reteaming for 2017’s Dunkirk, according to Hans-Zimmer.com.
The pair have worked together on five of Nolan’s films and two films in the DC universe, Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and have created numerous arresting and beautiful scores, including “Time” for Inception, “Rise” for The Dark Knight Rises and “Mountains” for Interstellar.
In the future, Zimmer’s music can be heard in films ranging from Kung Fu Panda 3 to Inferno.
Dunkirk is Nolan’s recently announced next project, which tells the story of the 1940 Dunkirk evacuation during World War II. Actors Tom Hardy (Inception, The Dark Knight Rises), Kenneth Branagh (Wallander) and Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies) are all reportedly in talks to star. Production will get underway in May, with Nolan shooting on a combination of 65mm and IMAX 65mm. The film is set to hit cinemas on July 21st, 2017.
