Aliens VR video game in development

July 17, 2022 by Gary Collinson

A new Alien video game is in the works, and this time it’s war… in VR!

Survios Inc., the company behind Creed: Rise to Glory, The Walking Dead Onslaught and Westworld: Awakening, has announced that it is teaming with 20th Century Studios for a new single-player Aliens video game.

As per the official website, the action horror title will feature an original storyline that takes place between Ridley Scott’s original Alien and James Cameron’s sequel Aliens, which follows a battle hardened veteran with a vendetta against the Xenomorphs.

While further details are being kept under wraps, Survios has revealed that the game is being developed using Unreal Engine 5, and “will take full advantage of Survios’ expertise in creating immersive and authentic gaming experiences, and is being developed for the PC, Console, and VR.”

While Ridley Scott’s recent Alien prequels may have left a number of fans disappointed, the franchise has enjoyed more success in the video game medium in recent years, with the survival horror title Alien: Isolation in particular proving a hit with gamers and critics. The most recent game however, Aliens: Fireteam Elite, was less well received when it released last year.
