Netflix’s reboot of the Spy Kids franchise has added Billy Magnussen (No Time to Die) to its cast, per Deadline.
Magnussen joins a cast that includes Gina Rodriguez (Jane The Virgin), Zachary Levi (Shazam! Fury of the Gods), Everly Carganilla (The Afterparty) and Connor Esterson in his feature film debut. They will star as the new family of secret agents in the reboot.
The Spy Kids reboot is being produced, written and directed by Robert Rodriguez and follows what happens when the children of the world’s greatest secret agents unwittingly help a powerful game developer unleash a computer virus that gives him control of all technology, leading them to become spies themselves to save their parents and the world.

The original Spy Kids was released in 2001 and starred Antonio Banderas, Carla Gugino, Alexa PenaVega and Daryl Sabara. It grossed $150M worldwide and spawned three sequels over the following decade, raking in almost $550M in total for the modestly budgeted franchise.
