Filmmaker Martin Scorsese and star Leonardo DiCaprio are set to follow their upcoming collaboration on Killers of the Flower Moon by reuniting with Apple TV+ for The Wager.
As with Killers of the Flower Moon, The Wager is based a non-fiction book by David Grann, the upcoming The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny, and Murder; taking place in the 1740s, it tells the story of the Wager, a British naval ship which becomes shipwrecked on a desolate island off the coast of Patagonia. The film will explore the captain and crew’s efforts to survive and maintain order as they find themselves stranded, battling extreme elements and their own human nature.
Scorsese and DiCaprio will produce The Wager through their Sikelia Productions and Appian Way Productions banners, while Dan Friedkin and Bradley Thomas will also produce for Imperative Entertainment. As yet, there is no word on a screenwriter to adapt the book, nor potential filming dates.

Their sixth, the 1920s-set mystery crime thriller Killers of the Flower Moon, is currently in post-production and expected to premiere at Cannes next year, while the duo also have the H.H. Holmes project The Devil in the White City set up as a series at Hulu.
