Another week, another Nicolas Cage movie announcement. This time he has been teamed with The Suicide Squad‘s Joel Kinnaman for a mysterious road-trip in Yuval Adler’s Sympathy for the Devil.
According to Variety production on Sympathy for the Devil is already underway in Las Vegas, and is described as a psychological thriller that follows a character known simply as “The Driver” (Kinnaman) who finds himself in a high-stakes game of cat and mouse after being forced to drive a mysterious man known only as “The Passenger” (Cage).
Helmed by Yuval Adler, who is best known for his award-winning 2013 drama Bethlehem, and also directed Kinnaman in 2020’s The Secrets We Keep, the film has been written by Luke Paradise (Lost on a Mountain in Maine).
Kinnaman can currently be seen as the lead in Apple TV+’s ‘best show that nobody is talking about’ For All Mankind, which Nicolas Cage has quite the schedule of movies coming up; next we’ll see him in frontier epic Butcher’s Crossing, and then he’ll ride around the wild west for a bit more with The Old Way, before joining Nicholas Hoult, Ben Schwartz and Awkwafina in the Dracula film Renfield.
