Get ready for Sylvester Stallone’s Barney Ross farewell, as Lionsgate has set a September 2023 release date for the action sequel The Expendables 4.
Marking Sly’s final outing in the franchise he co-created, The Expendables 4 will see the action icon joined by fellow franchise vets Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture, as well as new additions Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Megan Fox, Andy García, Tony Jaa, Jacob Scipio, Iko Uwais, Levy Tran and Eddie Hall.
Scott Waugh (Need for Speed) is directing the film, and its plot reportedly sees the Expendables drawn into a nuclear conflict between Russia and the United States. Let’s hope we’ve still got a taste for that come next September…
The newly-released official synopsis for The Expendables 4 reads:
Armed with every weapon they can get their hands on and the skills to use them, The Expendables are the world’s last line of defense. But new team members with new styles and tactics are going to give the term ‘new blood’ a whole new meaning.
