One Piece Odyssey gameplay trailer reveals more features and the Alabasta Kingdom

October 24, 2022 by Andrew Newton

Bandai Namco Entertainment has released a new 7 minute long gameplay trailer for One Piece Odyssey, a brand new JRPG based on the hugely popular anime and manga One Piece.  This latest trailer (see below) looks into some of the game’s features and takes the crew to the Alabasta Kingdom, the location of one the series’ more popular locations.

In One Piece Odyssey, a terrible storm has swallowed the Thousand Sunny and its crew and transported them to a mysterious new island, one that sets players a challenge that links the past and present.  In this new adventure, players will get to take control of the Straw Hat pirates and explore new and familiar environments that look true to the art style fans have become accustomed to.

Throughout the game’s storyline and side stories, players will be able to take part in classic turn-based battles that allow them to switch between their favourite Straw Hat crew members and use their abilities to defeat a range of enemies and fearsome bosses.  As well as their unique abilities, players can also use different skills and items to exploit enemy weaknesses.  The game also features a unique mechanic that allows players to overcome situations called Dramatic Scenes that require them to achieve specific combat conditions that boosts progression and earning the crew member experience.

One Piece Odyssey will feature an original story with all new characters that have been developed by series creator Eiichiro Oda.

Look out for One Piece Odyssey arriving on Xbox Series X/S, Playstation 4, Playstation 5 and PC (via Steam) on 13th January 2023.
