The studio is embarking on a month-long celebration of the life of Stan Lee, the late comic-book writer, editor, publisher and producer (alongside Steve Ditko and Jack Kirby) of some of the most iconic Marvel characters, including Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Black Panther, Hulk, X-Men, Iron Man, Silver Surfer, Ant-Man, Thor and many many more.
Stanley Martin Lieber began working at Timely Comics, which would become Marvel, in 1939, where he eventually became Editor. By the ’60s, he was the writer and editor-in-chief of the now Marvel Comics before becoming publisher in 1972. Lee would go on to become synonymous with the Marvel brand, going on to make multiple cameos in the MCU’s blockbuster movies.
Stan Lee will stream on Disney+ sometime in 2023.
