One of the biggest shocks in Hollywood last year came with the news that Warner Bros. was completely shelving its Batgirl movie, with the studio abruptly pulling the plug on the $90 million-budgeted DC Films project deep into post-production as part of a tax write-off/cost-saving measure following the Discovery merger.
Unlike the likes of Zack Snyder’s Justice League (and Richard Donner’s cut of Superman II), it’s status as a tax write-off means its highly, highly unlikely that fans will ever see anything from Batgirl beyond the early promotional material – limited officially to the first-look image of Leslie Grace’s Barbara Gordon in a costume reminiscent of the character’s comic book look from the 2014 Batgirl revamp.
Well, it seems that wasn’t the only suit that Babs’ would have worn in the movie, as a behind-the-scenes image from the HBO Max movie has surfaced online showing Grace’s Batgirl in an upgraded, armored costume (presumably supplied by Michael Keaton’s Bruce Wayne?). Take a look at the costume here and be sure to let us know what you make of it on our social channels @FlickeringMyth…
