Harry Styles made one brief appearance in Eternals, and he soon became the talk of the town.
Styles appeared as Eros, also known as Starfox, alongside his assistant Pip the Troll. This was one of two post-credit scenes in the Chloe Zhao-directed Marvel Studios film. It was a quick glimpse into the future of the cosmic MCU, but we haven’t heard anything since.
Recently, Marvel Studios VP of Production & Development Nate Moore was asked by Deadline’s Crew Call podcast about Harry Styles appearing in more MCU entries. Moore doesn’t confirm any specific plans but says that the post-credit cameo isn’t all we’ll see of Styles.
“We didn’t cast Harry for a tag. [There are] more stories to be told with that character. He has an interesting connection with Thanos; they’re half-brothers and share the same father. He’s a complicated character but a really fun character,” says Moore.
Comic book fans will know Starfox as the brother of Mad Titan Thanos; he’s also known as a member of the Avengers and Dark Guardians. In some comics, he’s appeared alongside Captain Marvel. Styles is not confirmed to cameo in The Marvels at the time of reporting.
Harry Styles currently has no movies lined up. The musician-turned-actor recently appeared in Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling alongside Florence Pugh and starred in the romantic drama My Policeman.
As Eternals is considered one of Marvel’s rare flops, it’s safe to say that Kevin Feige isn’t rushing to add anyone from that movie to more Marvel things, even if they’re as popular as Harry Styles.
“Marvel Studios’ Eternals features an exciting new team of Super Heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, an unexpected tragedy forces them out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s most ancient enemy, The Deviants.”
Eternals is directed by Chloe Zhao (The Rider) and features a cast that includes Angelina Jolie (Maleficent) as Thena, Richard Madden (Bodyguard) as Ikaris, Don Lee (Train to Busan) as Gilgamesh, Salma Hayek (The Hitman’s Bodyguard) as Ajak, Lauren Ridloff (The Walking Dead) as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry (Child’s Play) as Phastos, Lia McHugh (American Woman) as Sprite, Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick) as Kingo, Kit Harington (Game of Thrones) as Dane Whitman, Gemma Chan (Captain Marvel) as Sersi and Barry Keoghan (Dunkirk) as Druig.
