They ride together. They Die Together. And now Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have announced Bad Boys 4 together.
Taking to Instagram, Will Smith, aka Detective Mike Lowery, drove over to visit his co-star Martin Lawrence, aka Detective Marcus Burnett, to announce that Bad Boys 4 was officially in development at Sony Pictures. Check out the video below…

Sony Pictures also confirmed (via Variety) that Bad Boys 4 is already in early pre-production, and that Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (Warner Bros. aborted Batgirl) are returning to direct from a script by Chris Bremner.
Bad Boys 4 Life was one of the last big blockbusters to be released before the global pandemic brought the world to a standstill, but the 17-years in the making sequel grossed a whopping $426M, which was more than its predecessors combined. It also helped that it turned out to be a terrific action film.
Plans for a fourth outing were seemingly halted at the sound of a slap on the stage at the Dolby Theatre, but now that the Academy Award controversy had died down, Smith is looking to get back to doing what he does best (read our ★★★★ review of Emancipation here), by returning to the orange-hued skies of Miami with Martin Lawrence by his side.
