There’s good news and bad news for fans of Bill Hader’s Emmy Award winning Barry, because at the exact same time HBO drops a brand new teaser for the eagerly-awaited fourth season, writer and star Hader has announced that this will be the final run of episodes for the show.
Hader, who created the series with Alec Berg, was speaking with Variety about how they came to the conclusion that Barry would end after this fourth season, revealing that the idea was born from the enforced pandemic delay. During this time Hader and Berg completely rewrote season three, and as they worked their way through season four they started to see that “a very clear ending presented itself.”
Barry season four will run for eight episodes, with Hader directing the entire season. The show also stars Henry Winkler, Stephen Root, Michael Irby, Anthony Carrigan, and Sarah Goldberg; check out the teaser below…
Barry the final season starts streaming on HBO Max from April 16th.
