Many doubted Rocky could spin off into a new movie franchise, yet Creed III just racked in the biggest opening weekend for the entire series. So, it’s fair to say that an upcoming Creed/Rocky cinematic universe could be a massive hit.
Deadline recently reported that Amazon wants to turn their hit MGM movie franchise into something bigger: a universe-spanning film and TV where we will see various Creed-related projects.
Film director and star Michael B. Jordan told Deadline last week at the Creed III premiere that “building the Creed universe is something that I’m really excited about.”
The outlet says plenty of ideas are brewing at MGM/Amazon at the time of reporting. It was announced last year that Drago would get a spin-off focusing on Florian Munteanu’s Viktor Drago and his father, Ivan Drago, played by Dolph Lundgren, and while that project’s status is unclear, there are several other projects in the works.
Deadline notes an “anime series connected to the Rocky spinoff IP is in the works,” as well as a companion live-action TV series and project centering on Adonis Creed’s daughter Amara, who played by deaf actress Mila Davis-Kent in Creed III. We will also see more Creed movies with Michael B. Jordan, given the latest film’s impressive opening weekend and positive critical reception.

Deadline even notes that franchise creator and star, Sylvester Stallone, could return after his absence from Creed III. Stallone and Amazon/MGM could likely explore Rocky stories, including an origin tale.
