Extraction 2 is yet to explode onto Netflix, but if the Chris Hemsworth-led action-sequel is a streaming success then director Sam Hargrave has revealed that “there is another adventure in the wind for Tyler Rake”.
Stuntman-turned-director Hargrave was speaking to BroBible’s Post-Credit Podcast when the future of the franchise was raised, to which he responded that if June’s sequel is “well received” by fans, then a third Extraction film is waiting to be greenlit, with a story in active development.
Hargrave, who made his debut with 2020’s original, told the podcast that “We’re kind of waiting to see how the second movie is received,” adding “Fingers crossed, if people enjoy the second one, there already is — and this is without spoiling anything — but there is a story in development for a third movie in the works. What it is exactly, I can’t say right now, but I believe there is another adventure in the wind for Tyler Rake.”

Hargrave also confirmed that Hemsworth is keen to return to the role of black ops mercenary Tyler Rake.
Produced by Joe and Anthony Russo, Extraction 2 also stars the returning Golshifteh Farahani, Adam Bessa, Olga Kurylenko, Daniel Bernhardt and Tinatin Dalakishvili.
Chris Hemsworth returns as Tyler Rake in EXTRACTION 2, the sequel to Netflix’s blockbuster action film EXTRACTION. After barely surviving the events of the first movie, Rake is back as the Australian black ops mercenary, tasked with another deadly mission: rescuing the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held.
Extraction 2 streams on Netflix from June 16th.
