As they’ve been friends for years, two Hollywood stars finally join forces. Deadline reports that Bradley Cooper and Will Arnett are developing the new film Is This Thing On?, which hails from Searchlight. Both actors will co-star in the movie, with Cooper also directing and Arnett penning the script with Mark Chappell.
The project is still in early development, and plot details are being kept under wraps.
Cooper is fresh off his leading role in Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3. and is awaiting the release of the Netflix drama Maestro, which serves as his follow-up directing gig to A Star Is Born. The potential awards contender sees Cooper not only starring as composer Leonard Bernstein in Maestro but also directing, producing, and co-writing the script.
As for Artnett, he will produce Peacock’s upcoming series Twisted Metal and provide his voice; the series premieres in July. The filmmaker will also co-star in Taika Waititi’s Next Goal Wins for Searchlight Pictures, set for release later this year.
Is This Thing On? sees Cooper producing through his Lea Pictures banner, along with Arnett and Kris Thykier. John Bishop will serve as an executive producer.
