Although it was initially reported that Hayden Christensen would be making his return to the galaxy far, far away for Star Wars: Ahsoka, Lucasfilm has held back from announcing the actor as part of the cast of the upcoming Disney+ series, with even lead Rosario Dawson keeping it vague when asked about the Prequel Trilogy star’s potential involvement.
Well, with less than two weeks to go until the series premiere, it’s now been made official with the latest trailer for Ahsoka featuring a voiceover from Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker, who imparts a few words of Jedi Master wisdom to his Padawan… in what is presumably another Clone Wars-era flashback scene a la Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi?
Looks like exciting times are ahead not just for fans of Star Wars Rebels, but also Dave Filoni’s earlier offering Star Wars: The Clone Wars! Check out the new trailer below…
Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.
Ahsoka stars Rosario Dawson as the titular Ahsoka Tano, Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, David Tennant as Huyang, Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth and Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati.
Star Wars: Ahsoka premieres on Disney+ on August 23rd.
